The Chesapeake Bay surface temperature is in the mid 40’s now and spring is on its way. Steve and Scott ran out with me to the local warm water discharge for some early morning action. We used 1 oz., 1 1/2 oz., and 2 oz. G-Eye Jigs. The Black Betty and Go2 color patterns worked best on this day. After the morning bite was over we ran out to the channel and we located fish in 60’ of water but no takers. Didn’t see much bait in the area which surprised me a little bit. This tells me that we have a little ways to go before the pre-spawn fish will start staging in open water.
The fishing expo season is winding down and I will be able to finalize and start posting some more videos that I’ve been working on. And of course, hit the water more often for some light tackle action.
See you out there and tight lines, LJ
